Tony Stark, a wealthy industrialist and inventor, is kidnapped by the terrorist group "The Mandarin". Forced to build a weapon of mass destruction, Stark instead creates a suit of armor to escape. Returning to America, he decides to use the technology to fight evil as Iron Man. With the help of his assistant Pepper Potts and his friend James Rhodes, Stark battles villains such as the Mandarin and Count Nefaria, while also facing personal challenges such as managing his company and keeping his identity secret.
